Spiders Webs –

Let’s Stay In Bed –

Spiders Webs

On a full-mooned winter night I saw some spiders webs a-light,

The moon reflected off the silk and made the webs as white as milk.

Darkness comes and darkness goes while moon and stars they always glow,

Sometimes I wish while in bed that I could glow like spiders webs.

Then a spider came along to ask me what was going on,

I told him of the moon that night and how it made his web glow white.

Darkness comes and darkness goes while moon and stars they always glow,

Sometimes I wish while in bed that I could glow like spiders webs.

And in that moonshine, webs are beaming, spiders bathe in milky light,

If I had that silky web then I’d glow in moonlight too.

Spiders webs oh spiders webs, pretty silk thing hanging there,

If I had enough of you I’d use that silk to make some hair.

As the night would end the day I’d cut my hair off straight away,

Swap it with the silk I’d found, let it fall right to the ground.

Then the moon would shine on me, my hair would gleam and light trees,

Caring not what might be said for I would glow like spiders webs.

Let’s Stay In Bed

When I wake up in the morning I shall not leave my bed,

It’s not because I’m lazy, it’s just such a lovely place.

When it’s cold outside and raining, and school insists I go,

I’d rather stay with my good friends, my duvet and pillow.

I could wrap myself in big thick quilts, stick pillows to my ears,

Then I’d wish my bed had big strong legs that could take me down the stairs.

Oh the joys I’d have in bed at school just napping through the class,

Then my bed could walk me home again, scaring people as we pass.

Let’s stay in bed! Let’s stay in bed! Let’s stay in bed today!

It is Monday and I feel that my bed wants me to stay,

It’s acting extra cosy which it seems to do each day.

I might just take ten minutes to affirm my point of view,

I’ll drift back into slumber land and dream a dream or two.

So I dream my bed has two large wings that’ll fly us through the sky,

As it swoops and glides through wind and rain my bed stays nice and dry.

As it lands down just in time for lunch at my favourite café,

I can lie there with my fish and chips and munch away the day.

Let’s stay in bed! Let’s stay in bed! Let’s stay in bed today!

Amen!
